LOOK AT THAT... (IS IT A DOG? PART 3)
Nemi generally goes everywhere with us. Lately she's been to the "big city"
(Trondheim that is)
an art gallery, a flea market, a couple of clothes shops and of course a
number of friends and relatives
- and lets not forget we've been to a few dog shows.
Nemi loves going places! She thinks meeting people is great fun. Unfortunately this enthusiasm
does not seem to extent to dogs (including dog shows) - but I'll not dwell on that now.
We do certainly get a few comments when we're walking around with a little creature that looks like, well...
Lets take a few examples of what people think she looks like:
Walking in Trondheim centre, Nemi is happily trotting along beside me and I
overhear a man commenting to
another as they walk past us:
"Hey, look at that funny cat!".
(I mean, honestly!!)
Standing at a pedestrian crossing at an intersection,
waiting for the little man to turn green, Nemi is a little bored,
and decides that doing pirouettes is a good occupation, perhaps she'll get some treats.
The man next to me is staring at her, then asks me
"Is is a hairless Chihuahua?"
We are at the art gallery of an aquaintance of ours, Nemi is sitting
on my arm, quietly watching the people whilst keeping a watchful eye
on a lifesize ceramic cat sitting in the corner.
A Woman stops righ in fornt of us and says "Oh, look at that funny ... It is a dog isn't it?"
We are at a dog show, Nemi is trotting next to me as we're having a look around.
A little girl nudges her mum and says "Look at the little pony!"
We are waiting outside a store for Tommy,
who has nipped in to get some sweets (both for human and canine, of course).
An elderly man is staring at us. He thenapproaches and asks.
"What IS that?" . My answer seems to puzzle him. Then he asks
"Do you mean it is BORN that way?"
I tell you, if you
want some attention, get a Crested. Of course, it is the dog that is getting all the attention - to the point that I'm
sure no one remembers what I look like anymore...
