SOCIALISATION (IS IT A DOG? PART 2)
On Nemi's third week with us, a friend visited with a young girl of almost 3 years.
The girl wanted very much to see the "little dog".
She was used to dogs, so we agreed.
After instructing the girl to sit down and be still so as not to scare the little dog,
we brought in Nemi.
"What's that?", the girl asked, and pointed at Nemi.
"The puppy" we replied.
Nemi was petted gently on the head - and quickly lost interest in the little girl.
An hour later when they were about to leave, the
girl complained that she hadn't met the little dog.
Any attempts on our part at explaining the Nemi was in fact a dog -
just one without hair, were futile.
The girl was only consoled after we introduced her to Mita. Finally a real, little dog!
